Los Angeles to San Francisco
10:59 a.m.

After many logistical difficulties, the small caravan leaves LA in a torrential downpour. Joel, the friendly and generous guy who booked the Northern California shows, drives the lead car with Donovan, Manny, and Justin. Deanna and her husband Dave follow in a rental car with the enjoyable Kevin.

"Now this was a crazy morning. At first the guys were loading the gear into the truck parked on the street in the pouring rain. I had the idea of waking up George (guitarist for Pretty Sneaky Sis who normally sleeps until 3pm) and asking for his truck keys. His truck was parked in the dry garage. In it was the remote control for the barred garage door. If we could just get that gate up, we could pull our truck in and load up away from the cold rain. It seemed like a good idea. It also seemed that with every trip to the parking garage to load up the gear, one of Jakes 3 cats would escape.
Eventually we were all loaded up. I returned Georges car keys and house keys, closed their apartment door and locked it behind me. So far so good. The problems began when I get down to the parking garage. The guys were all waiting for me to jump in the truck and take off... and so was "the King". One of the cats had escaped again! Obviously I couldn't put her back in the apartment. It was locked. I couldn't wake up George again. He wouldn't have heard a knock anyhow. I decided to take her to Jake's girlfriends house where we were picking up Kevin in 10 minutes.
I grab the cat, go to the open door of Georges truck, click the garage door opener (the gate opens for us), I lock and close Georges truck door and run with the cat to our truck. No sooner do I find my place in the tightly packed truck, than the garage door comes back down before we could exit. Now we're TRAPPED in the garage with the cat... well, there's so much more to this story, but I'd just as soon forget about it..."
