From Deanna's Journal
12:12 p.m.
We're driving in bright sunshine, in awe of the California scenery of rolling
mountains,
lakes, groves, and vineyards. It's brilliantly breathtaking.

1:19 p.m.
We stop to get gas in a town that smells like the circus (Los Banos),. And by the
circus, I don't mean cotton
candy and popcorn. I mean large barrels of animal crap and hay marinating in urine.
3:09 p.m.
We stop again for a break. Donovan buys a can of Rock Star soda. I buy a Diet Rock
Star and do yoga in a parking
space. The Stork. Kevin and Justin chit-chat about what's been happening in the respective
cars, i.e. shag lists.

3:41 p.m.
Maybe sometimes Justin likes to stick his head out of the sunroof on the way to
Frisco. All of the guys
in Joel's truck take turns hanging their heads out of the windows and sunroof. It
certainly is a scenic ride.
They have entire farms dedicated to garlic.
("First the cow farm, then the fires, then the garlic. Today has been the day
of many scents" - Joel Lackovich)

5:10 p.m.
People unload at Joel's house in Sunnyvale, about a 45 minute ride from downtown San
Francisco.
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two huskies. One has a glass eye and makes undogly
sounds.
