CD Release Party

Thursday the 16th of July 1998 at the Sapphire Supper Club is where the real fun began. The guys put on an impressive energetic performance to a very receptive crowd. Tampa's "Harry Dash" warmed em up with their powerful, unique style. Digital City Orlando was on hand to record the event. For the next few weeks you can enjoy some great pictures of the band in action along with a web-cast of the show. Check it out at Digital City Orlando Music: Webcasts

Looking slightly back

Recording of the record began June 1st.  With Executive Producers Gary Platt (Bon Jovi, The Cult, Prince), Mark Mason (Soul Asylum, Dinosaur Jr &Joan Osbourne) & Assistant Engineer, Eric Fruits. The band spent most of the month in and out of Phat Planet Studios and completed the tracking and mixing in early July. Jeff Beamer did a fantastic job on the CD's artwork and new logo (some samples above... for a clearer look at the art, pick up a disc :-)

CD naming contest

Well, thanks for taking part in the contest. After much deliberation, we decided to go with "blueMERIDIAN" (self-titled) it just seemed like the best choice. we have to say, our favorite suggestion was "Green Tank Top Girl" though".

More on the Disc

The songs that made it to the disc are the following (in order) Dream Breathe Scream, Even Now, Sideways Silverjet, The Verge, Go Away, Talliesen & The Final Thing, with an acoustic hidden track of Why'd She Do This To Me" recorded nearly 4 years ago in Donovan's living room (available only on the first 200 discs). Don't worry, "Helly" & "Ironside" will be on the
major release (soon, we hope).

So far sales and response have been overwhelming with each of the tracks sited as a favorite by one blueMERIDIAN fan or another. Which one will get picked up by radio is hard to tell at this point. All suggestions are welcome.
