well... do ya feel older? by appearances i wouldnt put you a day over 7.
you wear 9 years well. we need to hear about the songs you are
recording... since we cant hear them yet, how about a little insight as to the
lyrical content meaning and emotion involved when they were written. or
you could just make stuff up... write a song about the time with the midget
biker transvestite clansman in alabama and the threats he made if you didnt give
him your lunch money! ok, for the record... to the best of my knowledge,
that story never really happened and i just tried to drop something random.
if this particular event ever really happened to any of you fans and readers of
this post, my heart truly goes out to you. im just trying to get a bone
about the album here!

Caught
Donovan singing a little impromptu set of new material at Central Station on
Monday eve. You might think you know Blue Meridian, but just wait.
The latest songs are exceptionally palatable. Downright savory! You'll want to
eat them with a fork AND a spoon. You'll want to chew them long and swallow them
slowly.
Anyone doubting a bigger and brighter future for the Blue crew obviously hasn't
heard the hot-off-the-press stuff.
On one hearing only, you'll forget everything you know and leave with the tune
in your head and the words on your tongue.
And now I'm gonna go dance with an old guy.
Because sometimes you just have to do Marcel.

Greetings Blue Boys and Pink (er, Blue)
girls.
There have been a lot of questions as of late about the band, the next step,
upcoming shows if any, etc.
As some of you may remember, "Minerva" wasn't delivered until nearly a
year and a half after it was originally promised.
Sometimes obstacles arise that are beyond our control. In the case of Minerva,
it was a fledgling record label that was better at taking advantage, than taking
action. For whatever reason.
I'd rather not promise what may not be delivered. So I'll just say that in the
past 6 months I've written better than 11 new songs and last Friday we began
recording them. Worst case scenario, there will be some MP3's available before
the end of the year. Best case? There will be a new full album featuring all the
members of the band. And NO, we haven't broken up. We've all been in need of
some new challenges is all. The California tour helped with that for a short
time. Right now the new songs and new direction we're taking are what's keeping
us interested. That, and your support and enthusiasm for what we do. The
"News" page has a small update (that will expand eventually). Check it
out before you log off.
To answer other questions... The Summer batch of the Helly Bock didn't turn out
as well as expected (Helly is sweet, but not that sweet) and caused us to delay
the official release of the beer. The next batch will begin fermenting once the
brewery is comfortable in their new, larger locale. Probably sometime next
month. We hope to have it on tap again at Beerfest.
We plan to book a couple of shows over the next 3 months. We hope each of you
will attend. Yes, we do.

Well, well, well
The big 09. I can remember the first time I saw you. 1999, Wills Pub.
I
was there to flirt with Kenny, but much to my surprise, there was a
fantastic band there. A guy I had met before, but never in the light I
would see him in that night. For about an hour, I forgot my first reason
for coming and started to feel a new reason. The reason was coming into my
ears, running through my blood and finally reaching my heart. My new
reason
was Blue Meridian. Happy birthday fellas, can we get another nine out of
you?

Greetings,
Salutations, and Happy Birthday Blue Meridian!
You're nine years old today.
I met you when you were a babe of three.
You were there at The Mill on a September Saturday night, rushing in to play the
second show and second venue of the night.
You played Talliesen and Even Now and The Verge and I Don't Wanna Talkaboutit.
I was transifixed. Spellbound. Bewitched.
You probably don't remember me.
I was the awkwardly shy chubby girl in the plain clothes sitting on a bar stool
at the back of the crowded bar. Too self-conscious to move to the front. Too
timid to even think about dancing.
Look at you now..four albums, a dozen awards, hundreds of radio spins later..
your music and your future is brighter than ever.
Look at me now.. there's nowhere else I'd choose to be but dancing right up
front.
Nine. Older like a fine fine wine and we're still entwined.
Happy Birthday.

Yeah, wow... it was 9 years ago today that I met
Kevin for the first time. He dragged his drums into my house on Washington St.
in Downtown Orlando along with Dave Rhea on bass (Vonray), & Ben Tapia on
lead guitar (Wee Hour Movie) and we jammed for 8 hours.
We played and learned about 5 songs including "Why'd She Do This To Me".
it would be 3 months and a week before our first gig. We were young, dumb
and had no idea we'd be making music together this long.
It would be at least 4 more years until the notion of even playing for more than
our friends, family and strangers who didn't flip us off (if we were lucky) even
entered our minds. Those were the days when bands didn't form to "get
signed". Those were the days.
It's amazing it's taken us this long to find our stride. More than 10 new songs
have been crafted since Minerva.
We can't wait until you hear them.
Cheers and huge thanks.

.....so, I'm at this fancy restaurant having dinner and the table behind us is having some random conversation when someone says "Friday at 5" . Next thing I know everyone at the table is staring at me 'cuz I'm singin' Madeline Zero under my breath.....and I'm reminded that, not only should I never, ever sing in public, but, more importantly, it will be some time before I hear it live again. I guess I'll have to make due with my CD's for now..... Thank you all for a wonderful show at Cherry St. and thanks to Donovan for playing my personal favorite - I didn't think I would ever hear it live - I wasn't crying, you didn't see me crying, and you can't prove anything......

Thanks for putting on such a pleasurable
show at Cherry St. theatre--full of surprises and classic tunes. It's nice
to have the music with little distraction, all goodness no fat. I especially
liked the Kenny/Donovan harmonies, Kevin's artwork and djembe, Manny's effects
and left-handed guitaring, and the energetic bass player with the fluffy hair
(we missed Dean's parts). I read something today about Firestone being the
longest running club downtown, Blue Meridian has had the same iconic
staying power. Are you secretly amassing power from the gay community?
HA. I want to hear the new songs again. Until then take care, Sharyn

Once again,
I was amazed. I'm a little sad that Saturday's show might have been my
last, at least for a while. Thanks for all of the great surprises,
especially Thursday's impromptu set and the choice of songs on Saturday. I
loved every minute of it, and I can't wait to get my hands on a hard copy of the
show. I guess I'll settle for mp3s though, if that's the best I can get.
hehe :) Oh, and Helly Bock... Very good! It was my first taste
of the beer and I must say I was very pleased. It was great to see
everyone again! Hope all enjoyed the show even half as much as I did.
Thanks again for all the fun!

Beautiful Thing... it's a Beautiful Thing... one
of those songs that makes you feel what you thought was gone out of your life...
it takes hold of you with its honesty... it almost brought tears to my eyes,
which is hard to do... while Nikki sat beside me with tears streaming down her
face... hope the cameras did not catch the waterworks flying... or, well
maybe it'd be better if they did. Might make for some interesting
television. Either way, it was an honor to be one of the firsts to hear
it, as well as all the other goodies (both old and new) on Saturday at Cherry

Thanks for sharing it with us and for a playing such a wonderful show!

Dear Blue
Views Forum -
Last night's show at Cherry Street Theater in Winter Park was truly an event.
Everyone in attendance was sumptuously entertained with rare yet well-done
performances. Fortunately, it was taped and filmed so we'll have it for
posterity and be able to tell our grandchildren that we were there on the night
when Blue Meridian and friends rocked Cherry Street.
The night began on a high note with a great little set by Kenny Beaumont from
Cider who regaled the packed theater with stories involving The Monkees, mashed
potatoes, and his backside.
Next Donovan joined Kenny for a few oldies and their voices blended like sweet
cream butter. Then Kevin joined Donovan and his technicolor guitar to hit the
drums for some old-school songs that they haven't played together on stage in
years.
Next the audience feasted on the musical delicacies of the full band when Manny
and Justin joined in. And then Dean took Justin's place.. and well..
Okay, to be honest I really can't detail the remainder of the performance
because I was dancing my ass off with the rest of the gals at the side of the
theater. I do remember hearing a lot of songs from Minerva. All crowd pleasuhs.
Oh and yes, how could I forget? Helly Bock, Blue Meridian's very own beer was
breezily served up by a very friendly lady who was happily accepting donations
in a nice large horse oats bucket.
Everyone who partook of the Helly Bock happily exclaimed upon swallowing the
first sip,
"Beer is good!"

I'd like to take a quick moment to thank
everyone for a successful show and TV taping last night at Cherry St.
Kenny who opened the show, Inertia who handled lighting, Deanna who worked the
Helly Bock Station, Matt Glass - Brewmaster, Glenn Davis on Mandolin, Justin
O'Neill who handled bass duties in the 2nd set, of course Kevin, Manny &
Dean and the terrific crowd of amazing fans and friends.
As noted from the stage last night, Kevin's original art drumheads will be
available very soon via online auction. We think this is a very cool idea. A way
for everyone to have a shot at owning some very unique and one of a kind Blue
Meridian memrobilia and for Kevin to get his cool artwork out of his closet and
into the homes of people that will appreciate it. Watch future blueMAILS for
details on this and more.
In a couple weeks we'll be listening to the live recordings from the show, if
they came out as well as we'd hoped, there may be a live album available in the
not so distant future.
Keep your posts and support coming. It's always a blast.

Okay, super Florida rock star....let me just say this about that...it was soooo not my fault that I fell like a domino - those were the 67 inch stripper shoes and the red wine talking!
I do hope all is well and everyone had a patriotic 4th. I am up to my normal mild mannered behavior and have made such an impression that I am quite often recognized on the street. It seems some girls just can't leave the house wearing only panties these days! Other than that, ho hum...playing naked board games with some neighbors, Johnny Rotten the Evil Punk Rock Kitty up in the hizzzzous with some serious new lady friends...oh, yes...and listening to Blue Meridian while planning my Black Cross Nurse costume to wear to the transvestite bar down the street...it also doubles as a fancing dancing outfit for the cute boy downstairs...please, he's smitten. Speaking of him, we uncovered a secret trap door where we know Hoffa was buried. Unfortunately, when we went down to excavate, I started chipping away at the building foundation and...well...let's just say we all step lightly now.
I've really settled right down - I have no bank account, get my paycheck cashed at Nick's Liquors - where there is always the added entertainment of seeing a folk or two get arrested and everyone staring and whispering "what's that little white girl doing in here?". Ah yes, I've gotten my gang signs down pretty well and have recognized two new colors in the neighborhood - beware the young men in the baby blue kerchiefs - those dudes don't play!
Oh, but I miss everyone - 'specially when you do something cool like the Cherry Theater. Good luck, I know it will be great - send me a cd of the taping or something maybe?
Okay, well I'm off and for the moment, I have given rest to the notion of you and Joseph Marrtens coming to Elgin and having a Showdown OVER ME!!!!! Dude, I'm still cracking myself up - the fun never stops!
Don't hate the playa - hate the game.

Thanks Donovan and Crew!
I had a wonderful weekend and it was great seeing you and all the Blue Meridian
friends and fans again. The show was incredible (I loved "Crystal
Clear") and the afterparty was a lot of fun. Feel free to send
pictures, unless they're too scandelous! hehe :) Before I go, I
especially want to thank you for sharing your new songs with me. Usually
when a song gets stuck in my head, it's not a good thing. Most likely,
it's one of those annoyingly catchy songs the radio stations overplay. But
since Sunday I've had a couple of yours spinning inside my head.
"Beautiful Thing" in particular. After reading the lyrics the
first time a few weeks ago, I knew I would love this song. But hearing the
tune with your voice and inflection set it in stone for me. I believe that
I can honestly say it is the most beautifully written song I've heard. I
know I only heard the raw, acoustic version, but even that was so moving.
Maybe there's something bittersweet in the song that tugs at a string inside.
Maybe the mix of chords evokes a certain feeling. Maybe a particular lyric
surfaces lost memories I've long since tried to bury. Whatever the reason,
it's incredible. I cannot wait to hear it again. Hopefully you'll
play it at the show on the 12th and I'll be able to hear it again soon.
Thanks again for the fun times and great music!

Good to hear from all of you. The reports are in.. Bingo was not only a blast,
but another success. Lots of stuff coming up.
This Saturday we're back at the Social (full band) for the first time since the
CD release party for Minerva in Nov. We take the stage about 11pm. We'll be
introducing a new song called "Crystal Clear". Looking for feedback.
Next week will be another busy one. On Wednesday myself and Joseph Martens face
off at Central Station. This is gonna be a fun boxing themed night. We know in
the very least that Daniel aka Caveman, aka Carrot Muncher will me emceeing the
event. Hopefully in some retro powder Blue tuxedo (his 15 minutes of fame part
deux).
On Thursday we're performing at the Hard Rock Hotel for the Red Velvet sessions,
opening up for Rock n Roll Hall-o-Famers "The Lovin' Spoonfull". These
guys have a few more gigs under their belt than we do. Should be a classic
night.
Next Saturday the 28th we're at Pointe Orlando for some O-Rock thing. We'll be
on after dark. Pray for a cool, crisp, Summer evening (yeah, right). Visit www.Orock1059.com
to cast your advance vote for us.
Thanks mucho.

Hi Donovan, It's me Daniel (Carrot muncher).
Looks like you're keeping busy with your band. I've been working a day job at a health food store in sunny Daytona Beach. Haven't done a Caveman show since October and I'm itching to get back under the hot lights and moisten some panties. Now that I'm 7 months out of the loop, I realize what a bitchin' time I had on stage. Thank you for the opportunity to taste my Rock & Roll fantasy. Remember, you discovered caveman. That wouldn't have happened more than once had it not been for your keen eye and bad taste ; ) I am thankful for my 15 minutes, but I have 15 more in me. I'm helping
a friend move into her new house, which is desperate need of redecoration.
Today's adventure to Home Depot began in the car by deciding which cd to pop in.
After flipping through the cd case for a minute or two, we finally agree on

(Yes, I like to photograph cds on top of an old shiny silver record sleeve.)
Anyway, after driving a couple miles, we turn left onto...

We cruise down Meridian in our supercharged muscle car, singing everything from "Danielle's Bi" to

...Blue" and "Hallelujah Girl". The cd turns over to
"The Way I Feel" (one of our favorites) when we notice the....

...ahead of us. Upon closer inspection, you can see the...

...license plate quite clearly.
So there's my cute little tale of coincidence that I thought I'd share with the class.
Too bad Home Depot didn't carry any paint in Meridian Blue.
That would have been the perfect conclusion to this exciting little story.
Love always,

Greetings Meridiites. Lots of cool stuff going
on. First of all, check out the gigs page. It's shaping up to be an interesting
month. The next thing you won't find on the gigs page because it's not really a
BM event, but I'm hosting the thing. Tomorrow the 11th at Central Station, 5
great female performers lay the smack down and guys get deals on drinks all
night long. TO catch the cool Michelangelo inspired poster go to www.gigposters.com
and search for Amy Steinberg or Emily Stine, to name a couple. While you're
there, search for Blue Meridian. I believe there are more than 30 posters on
display there and many, many others by other groups.
After that I'm hosting a BINGO night at one-eyed Jacks. Filling in for the
vacationing Joseph Martens. If you've never been to one of these, you're missing
out on a great time. Mark your calendar for June 17. More on this in future
newsletters. After that we've got 2 great full band performances on tap.
Speaking of "on tap", the first fully commercial batch of Helly Bock
is currently fermenting at the Orlando Brewing Company. Visit the website and
learn more. It's gonna be a great time launching this beer and we're counting on
your support to make it successful. www.bluemeridian.net/hellybock

Cool posts!
I'll try to get to answers and comments without beating to badly about the bush
(those who know me, know its a hobby of mine).
Dear Niki. As far as "Guardrail" goes... most of the sour songs on
that album were written about a girl I dated awhile back that "took her
love to town" (like Ruby from the Kenny Rogers song). Well, downtown
actually. She cheated on me with someone from a different band (well, actually
that's nearly all my ex-girlfriends... now some of you might realize why I'm so
single... even if there's a ring on my finger in one or more of my promo shots,
I assure you, it's merely for decorative purposes). If you happen to see this
girl, tap her on the shoulder for me.. with a hammer. ahem. Anyhow...
Regarding July 12th....there will be much planning going into this show. It will
be taped for television. The audience will be intimate. The seats will be
reserved. It will cost a tad more than the average show, but it will be well
worth it. Expect nearly 2 hours of BM moments. Many of which you've never seen
before and will never see again. More details as the date draws nearer.
Dear "Hot Girl Tootie O".
In addition to commending you for being familiar with all 4 BM albums I want to
wish you luck on your latest adventure and suggest that in your next missive you
open up and reveal all the facts. Like the times you "fell like a
domino".
Nice use of the BLUE.
In closing, Friday night I had the pleasure of seeing Butch Walker of Marvelous

actually opened for BM at the Sapphire Club (when the roof was intact). I also

songwriters...Brian Vanderark of "Verve Pipe" fame. He promises to

Once upon a time in Orlando lived a Brave Angel. Secretly Someone may have thought that this girl was out of control, too wild, her words caused Division....but she was only trying to express The Way I Feel.
And so, the angel waited a Month of Sundays for her Captain Courageus to tell her she was So Sexy Avalon and whisk her away to the Walk Of Fame for a Month of Sundays. Finally, the angel decided to grow up and stop feeling like such a Madelin Zero and write her own Spreading Clever ending to her story.
And here she stands, on The Verge of a life changing adventure....Glistening in the Starlight, fear Higher Than My Vertigo, watching the Crescent of the moon and wondering what the future will bring...missing all of you already.
She's Gone. You remember and still you think...Don't Know Why I Miss You...but you do.
Life brings special people together for a reason. No matter how it ended, no matter where our paths lead us from this moment - we have all shared a part of history. And it was fun - for me..and it is all about me anyway, isn't it?

Hey Donovan,
I happen to be over on Park Ave. today scouring Pottery Barn for sales. Shopping is my sport of choice. He he. Anyway I popped into to Park Ave CDs and got Bleeding on the Guardrail. YIKES!! It is great but my gosh did someone rip out your heart and do the Mexican Hat dance on it?? Goodness sake! But I am such a sap so I love it! I am so jealous of the way you can express your feelings and emotions into songs. My only talent is mathematics and computers. I am such a geek.
When are you going to know all the details on the
July performance? Its so cool. Its the day after my bday.

...you seemed - to me anyway - to be having a lot more fun than I've ever seen you have playing before......you don't always look like your enjoying yourself......don't take it the wrong way - maybe it was just me...but I noticed a difference..........it was a good thing :) Hope you had as much fun at Wills....sorry I missed it.

Alright I've been meaning to say something since the Cinco de Mayo show which was a lot of fun; musicians taking requests are awesome. Donovan always comes through on that one. My principal (aka boss) was in attendance, and friendly girls were serving tequila in little hats. The guys had brought a couch and living room type setup for the stage, complete with cowboy shirt hanging in readiness for dressing, so it felt as if I was in someone's cozy little living area being serenaded by Donovan and Ben. I had to leave early so I missed the other folks on the bill, but I highly recommend that Central Station gig to anyone that can catch it.
Now on this theme song question I can't really answer yet, but I can say that for some reason I came home from work today singing "I'm awkwardly hung on this lover's cross" (from "I Don't Want To Talk About It") and had to break out the Bleeding on the Guardrail CD for extended listening. Maybe that means I oughta head out to Will's.....
Happy Birthday, Jennifer. Don't know if you read this thing but Donovan can pass on my well wishes.
Love, love,

oh... i forgot about the theme music!
i would have to go with...heather and lace as my theme song. "im my only adversary... im my own worst enemy." nobody is kicking my ass but me these days. yeah, melancholy, but it works. and it has kind of a hard, rough, gothic sounding appeal. i hear chicks dig that!

When i first
heard the title track *from the OMA cd that was bundled with the tix, I thought
the guitar layers & effects were unbelievable. Whenever i hear that track i
just get mesmerized by the depth. how long did it take for that track, is that a
style you don't prefer to venture into again, its probably the heaviest track i
ever seen come outta orlando, beyond vonra's pow and my hotel years "if i
only spoke russiian" .....i'm sure you agree
I
am drawn to the nuances of distortion pedals I
guess.
And minerva, much respect due. its, i don't know how to put it
expect to say its flowing with positive vibes, and a cleverness that is very
cool. "beyond sadness, beyond angst, beyond existentialism,

its only a matter of time til we hear ole donovan singing the blues...
blues meridian they'll call it. he already has a fat tele... now he just needs to learn the art of making his guitar cry and he should probably have a cool hat. maybe a bowler would work for don the blues man. and he can do more and more duets with soul brother jim (aka gerber bill.) just a thought.
in the meantime you can still catch him and the band rocking out to some of the best music this town has to offer and enjoy yourselves with a nice cold one... im sure he will buy the first round if you ask nicely.

Dan-
I shall attempt to answer all your questions. In order.
Blockbuster Blue Was never considered as a lead single because of how unique it
is. This for the same reason "The Final Thing" never would have been a
lead single off the first album. Glad you like it though. It is kinda snappy.
If I had to guess, I think the Kashmir show will probably air this Sunday. We
performed the week after 7Mary3 and theirs aired this past sunday. Tune in and
see if I'm correct. 10pm, WJRR 101.1 FM.
There is a Park Ave CD store on the UCF campus. I visited there myself for the
first time last weekend. I don't recall the name of the building, but it almost
resembles the food court in a mall. Cool little shop.
Both Park Ave CD locations should carry 3 of the 4 albums. The first album has
long been sold out and we have maybe 40 Brave Angels left now (or less). Get em
while you can. I dig that groove in Glistening too. I think it's also
"unique", but in a very BM way.
Keep your questions coming. What else do I have to do with my time?

by any chance do you know when your recorded acoustic performance from Kashmir will air? i missed the show regretfully and hope i can at least hear it air on the radio. (damn if i missed that too).
is the park avenue cd's on the UCF campus now? i couldn't find it a few weeks back (went to pick up brave angel - i can't get over how f*&^n phenomenal the the guitar & vocal intro to Glistening sounds) i should just order it online.....right?

You thought that was a Comedy Night?? Jeez.
I try to do something a little different and bring a few silly musical guests in
to open the show and it's a comedy night. heh, heh. Funny stuff though I agree.
That was a bout a year ago at Dante's, if I remember correctly.
Well from what I know about the people you mentioned: Daniel lives somewhere
near the beach. Probably with his mother. Last I saw him was in February at the
Megacon. He was hanging out with 2 guys that were even geekier than him.
Daniel's an interesting cat. Somewhere on the Gallery page there's a picture of
him with a Pineapple (he doesn't just work with veggies).
Of the "Little Johnny Duo", B-boy continues to host open mic at the
Underground BLuz (where I met and found him), His Arab partner fled the area
down to South Florida owing BBoy money. I don't think they talk much any more.
One time downtown, I joined BBoy onstage and attempted the Arabs part. It
sucked. There's only one "Johnny".
Dante's closed down after New Years.
This Monday we're doing it again at Central Station. Check the poster on the
front page for the whole list, but included on the bill are 2 cats named Trevor
and Tod. They will bring with them no instruments, only their sharp wit. First
and 2nd place winners this year in the Real Radio Phillips Phile Slamfest. Strap
in.

Donovan has
recommended a couple incredible bands for me to check out lately. I saw one of
them just last night. The band was amazing, the guys were very cool, the
sound was great, and the crowd really seemed to get into it. And I know
I'm not savvy when it comes to the music industry... probably as far as
one can get from that, really. But I don't understand how this band can
have the deal, the promotion, and the RV to tour the country, and still not have
the quality music that Blue Meridian has. What part of the equation am I
missing?
Okay, wow... That really sounds like I am bashing the other band.
Either that or sucking up to you, huh? Really, I'm not... just stating my
opinion.
Anyway, thanks again, D, for recommending the shows. Good music and great
people. I just thought you should know that I walked in a Blue girl, and I
walked out a Blue girl.
Probably always will be a Blue girl. Nikki

Hello. A few things. First off.. thanks to
all who attended last night. Phaedra is correct. It was a terrific time.
Unfortunately it seems the show will not air this Sunday on WJRR. It seems they
are a tad behind, but it will air in the coming weeks. Check back here for
details. Also, bad news for the out of town fans. WJRR and most radio stations
are not currently streaming live audio. Apparantly the U.S. Government is
charging for this now. I Find that unusual and disturbing. In other news, the
GIGS page will be updated shortly with a few local MAY happenings. Check back.
Also... it's rumored that WTKS may begin spinning a new track off
"Minerva". This weekend be sure to call them and let them know there
are BM fans out there that are listening closely. We're hoping for Danielle's
Bi, as there's another rumor that a Tallahassee Radio station is already playing
the track.
More soon and thanks

Dear
Views,
I've finally recovered from my annual spring jaunt to Florida, and I must say, I
was thrilled to take in not one, but two BM shows during the week. The
House of Blues show was a bit interesting. Great music, just not your
typical Blue Meridian crowd. But hey, I think I may have garnered a few
new fans for you that night. I think it was even better to see you guys at
Central Station, for the more intimate show. Not only did I get to soak in
some of the unrecorded songs I never get to hear, but I also met a few blue fans
I've only heard things about. Good things, of course. :)
Good luck and have fun at the Kashmir show. Sounds like it'll be the show
not to miss. Sorry I won't be able to make it back for that one - I'll be
there in spirit. Thanks again for all the fun times!

Dear faithful Meridi-ites.
Let me start off by saying this post follows one of the longest, wackiest and most
fun in forum history. Thanks for sending us off with a beer belly laugh. To respond to
Lisa's post. YES, Zach will be checking and laying down the rap as on the Minerva Album.
Probably at the shows on the 14th and 20th.
Thanks for all the well wishes and support. We hope to start making it out to other
states on a fairly regular basis.
For all Orlando fans, please don't forget to come out to the Wills show on the 22nd
and welcome us home. Most likely there will be no "blueMAIL" going out prior to
that performance to serve as a reminder.
Keep your eyes on the "Gallery" page soon, as it will reflect some of the
highlights of the trip.
Well wishes back at ya.

Dear Blue Views Forum,
Nothing good can come out of two Blue Meridian fans being snowed-in for a full
month. This is a direct result of too much alcohol and an extremely long evening
with cabin fever... not a good mixture. Anyway, we hope you have a wonderful time in
L.A. and make it a point to stop up here the next time you hit the road!
Your Ever Faithful Northern Supporters,
Mandi and Nikki
West Coast Love
The boys of Blue Meridian are headed to the west coast.
So everyone raise you glass and give them a toast.
In Cali they'll play their music and boast
and find new fans who'll write to the forum and post.
The west coasters may fall for Kevin, the drummer.
But his girlfriend would definitely say that's a bummer.
He thinks he's the shit since he drives a hummer,
though, if this gig don't pan out, he'll go back to being a plumber.
Dean will get crushed on, at least by the chicks.
An average of five or six per show he predicts.
I'm sure they'll zone out when they dream of his licks.
Until Kevin snaps 'em out of it by throwing his sticks.
The crowds will be mesmerized by Manny's skills.
Everyone from San Francisco to Beverly Hills.
With a pick as his weapon, he'll go in for the kill.
And send everyone home still feeling the chill.
If Manny doesn't kill you, give Donovan a chance.
The voice and the lyrics may induce a hypnotic trance.
You'll be hooked by his eyes, with even the slightest glance.
And I won't expand on his collection of tight and interesting pants!
Orlando will miss them, but it's time the world hears
The sound of Blue Meridian with their very own ears.
Dvan and crew will be back, so shed no more tears.
And who knows, when they play Will's they may buy a round of beer!
((**Please note that the poem was actually a collaboration between Mandi -
Mandi9133@aol.com and myself. She was either too shy or too embarrassed to claim
this as her creation, so I told her I would submit it for her. Feel free to give her
credit though, since she came up with the bulk of it. I would also like to emphasize
that it was written in a state of intoxication, and we both work with small children, so
it's far from profound. It doesn't really make sense, and we're fully aware that
Kevin isn't a plumber and probably doesn't drive a hummer. It was all in good fun
and hey, the words rhymed, okay!**))

Well, I had a grrrreeeeeeaaaatttt Blue Meridian
weekend with the show at Hard Rock and that's all that
matters, because - yes, it's true...it really IS all
about me.
Seriously, I was thinking - where else can bikers,
babes, blue wigs and boys come together and have fun
but a Blue Meridian show? And when I say boys, I mean
young boys. Specifically, 15 year old boys, who at
one point, Miss Vee had to turn to and sternly ask to
stop humping her leg.
All in all, good stuff. I got to hang out with all
you sexy guys some more and meet some new folks. Saw
some people maybe I didn't expect to see - I think
that was very cool. And if it not, the best revenge
is success, which you are!
As usual, there was no rest for the wicked Minerva
Gurlz after a show - we had to go dance our energy
away at Barbarella. I ended the evening with a full
on SuperStah! demonstration, on the floor and
everything - I'm not sure how it translated with the
blue afro. Out on the street, I tried to sell the
talented Emily Stine to some nice young men - with the
help of the Minerva Gurlz new attorney. But, Miss
Stine is far too smart and pretty for that madness.
Then I went home - alone, yes, I do that occasionally
- and hung my blue afro out to dry.
Miss Vee tells me y'all are heading out on tour
Saturday - NO! We're going to miss you!
My first thought was to play a show every night, no,
twice a night, before you left. Since that's not an
option- I gotta tell everyone out there that they
better hustle their bottoms over to Park Avenue CD's
and get the Minerva album!!!
Everyone, you know darn well you're going to need that
Spreading Clever fix and these guys aren't back until
March 22nd so buy the cd already! That way, Donovan -
you and the band can know that every night you're
gone, cd's are hitting players here and those amazing
sounds are going out to you in California - wishing
you great success on the tour and a safe journey back
home to us!

I can not tell you how
impressed I am with Minerva...even though I have never heard anything I
don't like from you. You have really put your heart and soul into your
music and your talent is overwhelming. I am just really glad that I had the
privelege to know you a little over the past few years and was introduced to
the best music Orlando has ever had to offer. And I know it won't be too
much longer until I am fighting for a ticket at a sold out arena.
Take care

Id like to add to Emily Stines shameless
self-promotion by saying you MUST buy her album when its released. I have had the
privilege of hearing track 7 and its is incredible. No, its spectacular. Wait,
make that phenomenal! Emily has a beautiful voice by adding Donovan to the mix youve
got some amazing musical chemistry. I was really hoping that they would have done the tune
together last night at Central but alas I was denied. Anyway, I say again, buy Emily
Stines album. Go see her when she performs live. Give her the same support you give
Blue Meridian. True musical talent such as hers should not be denied. Oh and another
thing, check out my photo
Im so fuckin heavy metal it hurts.

Emily Stine here asking... Have you bought your copy of Minerva
yet? How about one for your mom? Or that girl you've always wanted to ask out
but weren't sure you would have anything to talk about? Buy her one, then you will
have hours and hours of endless conversation. Minerva inspires great things. It
inspired me to record my own album with much the same team including Manny on lead guitar,
Kevin on the Frying pan among other things, and Donovan Lyman as producer
extrodinaire. Also look for a song written and coperformed by Donovan as track 7 on
my new album "The Center Unfolds". I guess all of this is just to say
thanks to you guys for helping my album come together.

Hey Donovan & guys,
Serina here... how the heck are you? I was reading a little about your
band... hey, I didn't know you are a Hip fan! Being Canadian and all...
well, The Hip just happen to be part of my cultural heritage (or something
like that). Very cool. I went to see them when they came to HOB a few months
back. Were you there too?
I enjoyed your band's performance at Hard Rock back in December. Bias and
all - I related most to your band in terms of performance (you really have
"cool" in your blood, bro), lyrics and general musicianship. Nice teamwork
and interplay between you guys - makes for a very tight show visually and
musically. Let me know if you've got any other shows.
Gosh, didn't expect to write a book! Hope you're well.
all the best,
Serina

Hey, thanks for all the mighty fine posts. Some of you have some really cool things
to say.
Apologies to the remaining naysayers that don't feel there is enough
"controversy" on the board.
That the subjects are cold filtered like Miller Genuine draft....hmm...
"Blue Meridian sucks balls!!!...
Donovan is an asshole!!!!"... make you feel better? Personally, I feel like a
massive weight has been
lifted from my shoulders. heh heh....
Earlier this week "bboy" wrote
"i just yesterday epiphanized the
poetic play on colors in the lyrics. subtly,
visualization, taste; qualities that are lacking in
today's popular music".
I find this very heavy. I like it. I beleive you should review albums for some
local rag
and raise their standards of reporting. I beleive that you don't have to be
negative to be interesting.
and hey Nikki... you want another cartoon?

See you at the shows and thanks

I agree. Higher than My Vertigo is an amazing song. The title
alone has more craft to it than most complete songs by other bands.
I bought Minerva the night of the CD release party at the old
Sapphire and have listened to it at least 4 times a week since. Best album I've bought in
awhile. Thanks again guys.

hey d,
just wanted to say that i've actully gotten a chance
to really listen to minerva lately and i am impressed.
it takes alot for me to get hooked on an album, im
definitely rotating M heavily.
originally i just bought it to support that band and
to have crescent on cd, and to tell the honest truth i
don't typically have an affinity for BM's type of
music.
but.. i let it rock in the jeep a few times thru and
i must say congratulations. M has earned an entry in
my all time fave list. "blockbuster blue" new
favorite song. currently "higher than my vertigo" is
growing on me. i just yesterday epiphanized the
poetic play on colors in the lyrics. subtly,
visualization, taste; qualities that are lacking in
today's popular music.
if there is justice in this world of manufactured,
clone, crap bands, minerva will get the credit it
deserves.
i know you've worked hard. and you deserve congrats
on a job well done.

View Crew-
It looks like we weren't the only ones who had a teriffic time
on Friday. Thanks to the G-ville Girls, the Minerva Girls, The Merch Girl and all the
other girls for making it a complete success (and all the guys who brought girls). That's
funny. No, really props to everyone. The other bands, our crew and mostly Kev, Manny &
Dean for making this band worth listening to.
Things are coming together for the California shows and the GIG page will be updated very
soon with some exciting Central Florida events as well. Keep listening to WTKS, WJRR &
O-Rock for music from Minerva (oh and The Independent Bar as well)
We'll talk soon.

Dear Blue Views,
As aforementioned by some incredibly cool people, Friday night's show was fabulous and
quite well-attended. Please refer to the crowd picture.
Having handed out quite a few tickets to friends and to strangers, I was happy to be
thanked by several of them afterward for the invitation and the introduction to great
music. Blue Meridian was just as fantastic as I had promised and I love being right.
After the show, we didn't let the pleasant HOB staff tossing us out of the venue signal
the end of our evening. We headed downtown to get our groove on at Independent. (For those
who speak old-school, it's Barbarella).
Apparently our Minerva suits attracted a little bit of attention from the folks in charge
and before I knew it, I was asked to retrieve my Minerva CD from my car and then whisked
up to the DJ booth like royalty where DJ Dan told me that he would like to spin Track 3,
Danielle's Bi, for the last song of the evening. On my way back down the steep spiral
stairs from the booth, I ran into Dan's lovely girlfriend Jen who is a fan of BM as well.
I apologized for bumping into her and she said, "That's okay, you're the Blue
Meridian girl."
Awww. Membership has its privileges.
As promised, Dan spun Danielle's Bi and announced it as a groovy new Blue Meridian song.
It happened to fit right in with the format that evening. People danced, shimmied, jigged,
and gyrated. One fellow did The Twist. It was over entirely too soon.
The house lights came on and I collected my CD and hurriedly dashed out of the place, my
cape waving and flapping behind me. See, it was just a few short minutes before 3 AM...the
witching hour when The Blue Meridian Girl turns back into a hobo.
Here's to hearing Blue Meridian at venues big and small.
Lots of delicious dancing to you.
luv vee

... my falsetto or my British accent?
Thought you sounded really great tonight.
The drive back to the greater Tuskawilla/Winter Springs Metroplex
is the perfect length for listening to Minerva. I've only heard each song one time,
and I don't know all the titles yet. So I really can't comment. But man does the
record sound good.

Hi guys!
I'm so glad I took the weekend off and flew down from Indy for the show. I think I
had been going through withdrawls. You sounded amazing, the lighting was incredible,
the crowd was great. And I can finally say that I heard "Spreading Clever"
live... Even if I had to sing Zachariah's part to myself. Thanks for the
amazing night! Hope to see you again soon!

another one in da books! a great show at orlandos best venue.
props to the guys from the curve for keeping the crowd alive in between 2... well... lets
just call them obscure bands. always cool to see new faces mingling with the old
faces and so on. blah blah blah.... i could keep on singing the praises of numerous
people who made tonight a success, but ill just end with a few things.
1) band energy and stage awareness was killer.
2) crowd was hype with good reason.
3) dean asked me to sing, and i love him for it!
4)sex is like a chinese dinner, it aint over til you both get your cookies.
i realize that last point didnt fit the scheme, but i thought it funny enough to share
with all the blue meridian fans of old, and to show the new fans from tonight that blue
meridian has a sense of humahhh! heh, heh
LONG LIVE THE BLUES!!!

Just wanted to let you know I am feeling the pull more and more as the week comes
to a close but alas, I am still "going to Graceland" this weekend so I won't be
able to make the show at HOB. It is an interesting feeling that strikes me every
time you play: One of "what else could be more important than being
there?" Donovan and Ben, it was nice seeing you out the other night and I hope
my renditions of "My Minerva" were recognizable and few. Oh how I love
singing people's song to them. Have a super show tomorrow. I am with you in
spirit.
Love,

Dear Blue Views,
I was growing tired of watching and reading the endless media coverage of the Columbia
disaster. I've read so many articles about heat tiles and foam pieces, nose cones and wing
fragments, that the catastrophe isn't real to me anymore.
This morning, though, I found this from the Associated Press:
"In Vernon Parish, La., a woman out walking found a small, ragged
piece of fabric with a Star of David, Sheriff Sam Craft said. The symbol,
in a circle between blue and silver bars, is the flag of the Israeli Air Force and is
presumably from the suit of Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon."
I thought it was actually a beautiful image to come out of a horrible tragedy...a Ragged
Star drifting to earth.
Peace.

Dear Blue

On my way home the other evening, I was driving along Maitland Avenue in my usual safe way
when I saw red and blue police lights in my rear view mirror.
Then I heard, "Pull the vehicle
